Why Use a Brand On Your
Website
Online branding is really two things: Graphic and visual
identity. On the Web is about building recognition of a website, and
giving visitors or customers a specific feeling or attitude about the site,
based on the message the owner wants to convey. Since images convey more than
words, self-explanatory images can become your major differentiation factor in
online branding.
Branding is considered one of the most important marketing objectives because it is often
the tie-breaker for an unsure consumer. It has proven to be a major fact to help
you convert your visitors into consumers.
Business websites need to deliver very clear messages:
trustworthiness, know-how, consistency, and customer support and respect. Many
successful online businesses have used images as their logos to make
communication easier since we easily relate with these images and/or logos. A
recognizable brand also makes a business's site more attractive to potential
advertisers and partners.
More and more businesses are finding that effective online branding does not
require big budgets, just an understanding of what brand attributes they are
trying to build. In fact, 66 percent of marketing executives said the Web
is an effective or more effective branding medium relative to traditional
channels, according to Forrester Research.
Many companies websites arent up to par with their
corporate identity because theyre unsure of online branding tactics. The
theory of online branding is vast. In simple terms, online branding is a
function of putting your name in front of good customers -- A lot. The Internet
has opened up a new method of communicating with users, and online branding and
brand management have become concerns not just for Internet designers and
developers, but for anyone who manages or creates brands, including marketing,
communications and e-commerce executives.
